Homeowners Insurance
I have been involved in covering people’s homes for over 19 years. Many agents are either new to the business or tend not to last long in it. This can be very hard on a client who has to always find a new agent to develop a relationship with.
Second, when people are getting quotes from me they are getting quotes from 4-7 different homeowners insurance companies. This is opposed to calling Allstate, State Farm, Farmers, Nationwide or Liberty Mutual Insurance. With these companies clients are only getting quotes from one company at a time. Also, if something goes wrong, i.e. rates increase or some part of the client's variables change like age, claim or credit (and something always does happen), one company alone may now not be competitive for these different scenarios. I have several companies from which to offer you coverage without you having to start a whole new relationship with a different agent and start all over again.
HOME OWNERS INSURANCE SECRETS: All homeowners policies are not alike! All policies have a replacement cost cap built into them. This cap can vary between 120% to 200% of what you insure your house for. What this means is that if you have a house insured for $100,000 on the structure, you could be covered from $120,000-$200,000 depending on the replacement cost cap. This is a huge difference in your coverage. What the replacement cost cap is used for is to help take care of cost overruns which are not hard to imagine, especially if the house is completely destroyed! In addition to this, a company covering your house for $100,000 with a 120% cap or $120,000 maximum payout with cost overruns is actually giving you less coverage on your structure than a company covering you for $70,000 with a 200% replacement cost cap or coverage up to $140,000! Please ask whoever you get coverage from what the replacement cost cap on the structure is for your own protection.
